The Only Thing You Have to Fear is...Nothing!

The world is at your finger tips. Anything you want you can have. Your resources are unlimited, but how many of us are brave enough to actually go and get what we want? That begs the question, what would you do if you weren't afraid?

To have any amount of success you have to have balls to put yourself out there. You can't just wait around in the shadows thinking that opportunity is going to come looking for you. Doors can't open themselves; therefore, you have to be the one willing to take the risk to open up portals and see what's on the other side. Think about it. How many opportunities have you missed out on because you were afraid? If the answer is more than zero then you missed out on too much. I talk about self-sabotage a lot on this blog, and fear is apart of that. The worst thing that could happen is you fail, but at least you can try again until you get it right. Micheal Jordan once said "I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." Had he given up because of fear, he might not be the legend that he is today.

Don't let anything or anyone hold you back in life. If you want to network, then go out and meet new people. If you want a change of scenery then devise a game plan to move to a different state or even a different country. Try new foods and styles of clothing. Be courageous, and do it with no regrets! Time is the only thing you cannot get back so don't waste it being afraid.

Mind Maps?

I have no idea what this is, but it serves a good purpose as inspiration and motivation. My favorite one? "Live in the NOW". Read through all of them and find your favorites and live it.

Fall is The Season, Not Your Path

Today, while doing some research, I came across a Yahoo article about reasons why people fail. I am a strong believer in learning how to do something by knowing what NOT to do because it creates less trials and errors. Needless to say, I was thrilled to come across this particular post. That is to say, I was thrilled until I was called out on my own self-sabotaging ways. However, there was a sigh of relief when I received advice on how to fix my problems, and it seemed simple enough to follow and in return I gained a lot of insight.

The following context was written by

Fix: Whenever you reach a plateau or dry spot, it's time to celebrate rather than give up. A plateau is almost always a sign that you're on the brink of a major breakthrough, if you just have the patience to stick with it and trust that you'll eventually achieve your goal.
I don't want to be the reason I don't succeed, so my advice to all you Night Crawlers out there is to not be so cocky to think that there is a possibility that you could be the one holding yourself back. After all, all of the 5 reasons in the article had to do with personal behavior, not outside sources, that led to failure. If you see that you are making some of these mistakes then don't wait until you fall to try to fix them, do it now and get on the road of productivity and blessings. Remember, Fall is only the Season, not your path.

Let's Get Out of Your Procrastination Trap

I cannot lie. I can be a procrastinator at times. It's all good in the beginning when I'm pumped and working and motivated, but then after I see a little bit of progress I use it as an excuse to slack off. Pretty soon I'm knocked off track and stagnant in my work. However, I won't let those spurts of procrastination take over my game plan and dictate my life, which is why I HAVE to stay motivated. Because motivation can take you from the valley to the mountain top, you should always have your go-to inspiration that will keep you working towards your goals and moving forward.

Below is a video from Eric Thomas' web series Thank God It's Monday which touches on the subject of procrastination. What better way to get rid of it than by calling yourself out on your "I'll do it later" ways? No one has to luxury to procrastinate because time is the one resource that cannot be earned. Enjoy.

Your Choice 2012

So who will YOU be voting for this year? I've just about made up my mind, but I'm still researching to make sure it's the best choice for myself and the MAJORITY of of the country. Remember that when you vote you vote for who will be the best candidate for not only you, but your community and the people around you. That's how we unite as a nation.

However if you are misinformed or don't have enough information about what either of the candidates believe, then I've posted the videos from both the Presidential and Vice Presidential debates, which aired over the past two weeks. Look at the videos and take a look at each candidates website (posted below) so that you will
know whats up when Election Day rolls around.

The Hardest Thing to do...

On a cold dreary day in Atlanta, one needs reassurance that everything will be ok. The hardest thing to do is to believe without a shadow of a doubt that you will receive the things you've asked and prayed for. No matter how badly we want something, there is always a small bit of doubt whether you're aware of it or not. I found this in my email today (As you can tell I like the teachings and philosophies behind the book The Secret), and it gave me insight on just how big of a part believing plays in getting what you want. I hope it inspires you as well. Enjoy xx.

A Secret Scrolls message from Rhonda Byrne
Creator of The Secret

From The Secret Daily Teachings
Ask, Believe, Receive - just three simple steps to create what you want. However, very often the second step, believe, can be the most difficult one. And yet it is the greatest step you will ever take. Believing contains no doubt. Believing does not waiver. Believing is absolute faith. Believing remains steadfast despite what is happening in the outside world.
When you master believing, you have mastered your life.
May the joy be with you,

Rhonda Byrne
The Secret... bringing joy to billions

Facebook Finds!

A little something I found on Facebook that is so relevant to our society. This was a wake-up call for me to stop trying to live the life when I cannot afford it. There's no point in looking wealthy if you are not in fact wealthy. Lesson Learned!

Sleep is 4 Suckers Book Club: Week 1 Review

So if you are following along with the Si4S Book Club (which you should be), you already know the book that we're reading, The Richest Man in Babylon, read as parables like the ones laid out in the Bible. Now I grew up reading the Bible, so the verbiage and wording is easy for me to understand. If it's not as easy for you to follow along with here's the summary for chapters 1-3. (note that this summary isn't for you to read just so you can get out of reading the book. Winners never cheat and cheaters never win, so read the book word for word on your own.)

Chapter 1- Talks about the man who desired gold, Bansir. He was basically sitting around at work daydreaming and wondering why some of his peers were rich and he wasn't. He begins to tell his friend Kobbi about his dreams of gold and Kobbi suggests that they ask their old friend, who just so happens to be the richest man in Babylon,  how he bacame so wealthy.

Chapter 2- The richest man in Babylon gives in to his friends' many inquisitions on how he became rich. He tells them how he asked another wealthy man the same question a long time ago, and he proceeded to give them the same answer. Two main lessons were "wealth grows wherever men exert energy", meaning you have to work to get money, and "a part of all you earn is yours to keep", or pay yourself first and save that money and put it towards wise investments. Needless to say, out of the many friends that he told, some didn't listen, others didn't take him seriously, but very few became inspired.

Chapter 3- The last chapter on our to-read list for this week was probably the most important. Seven Cures For a Lean Purse is a chapter that everyone in the entire world can relate to and learn from!
  1. Start thy purse to fattening
  2. Control thy expenditures
  3. Make thy gold multiply
  4. Guard thy treasures from loss
  5. Make of thy dwelling a profitable investment
  6. Insure a future income
  7. Increase thy ability to earn
Overall I think this is a good foundation book that everyone should read at least once in their life. What a great pick by David Shands!

It's not too late to start the book and read along with us Night Crawlers! Next week we will be reading chapters 4-6, so get to reading and take notes as you would in class. After all, this is a learning experience.

Pouring out my heart...

Coming up on a breakthrough. I just need to break through.
The road is bumpy at best, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Success is almost here; just right around the bend.
Never going to give up until I reach the end.
And then on to the next goal where I will start all over again.

-Martacious
